🌿 Expanding Hope in Mariam Shewito

We’re thrilled to share a powerful milestone in Wogahta’s journey. Our Regional Director recently visited the Mariam Shewito district, where 54 additional women survivors have joined our poultry farming initiative. These women were given funding to purchase chickens and begin building sustainable livelihoods. With this expansion, the number of women supported by Wogahta has now reached 202, each one a testament to resilience and renewal.

In a moment of profound recognition, Dimtsi Woyane International (DW)—one of Tigray’s leading media stations—accompanied our Regional Director to the site. Their coverage highlighted the transformative impact of Wogahta’s work, documenting the survivors’ emotional and economic journeys.

Before joining the program, many of the women shared that they had been deeply traumatized, stigmatized, and burdened by depression. Now, they speak of healing, purpose, and hope. As one woman put it:

“Wogahta gave us a reason to live.”

The DW report aired on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 8 PM, offering a moving glimpse into the lives being rebuilt through compassion and community.
